Established in 1976, the Northwest Activities Center is located on the northwest
side of Detroit, Michigan. The facility is a multipurpose community center
operated by Northwest Community Programs, Inc.
Our mission is to provide cost effective services to youth, families and seniors
to enhance the quality of life in the Detroit community. We accomplish our
mission through the implementation of numerous internal programs and
activities, as well as through the programs of various tenants. We provide
services that include computer instruction, job training, assistance for mentally
and physically challenged youth, and programs for seniors.
Northwest Activities Center includes a Health and Fitness Club that provides
members access to the gym, exercise rooms, pool, sauna, and classes.
Rooms of various sizes are available for the community to rent. There is a
488-seat theatre and a large ballroom located directly across from the theatre.
Catering services are available from several local chefs.
